Irene the Cat came about because we wanted to build a website that a preteen girl could look at without giving us qualms. Not that many preteen girls are likely to be interested in our sense of what's funny and interesting, but still. So, for better or worse, this is it.

Let's Ask Irene is personally dictated by our very own Irene the Cat. You can see her typing it, right there on the left. Don't be fooled. It's just a ploy to get snacks, really. She's a terrible typist and we have to redo all her copy.

We indulge ourselves in some fakie — er, pseudoscience in Behavior Studies. Here our crack team of crackpots answers such age-old questions as why cats thunder around like lunatics in the middle of the night. (They're nocturnal, and they're lunatics. Plus it's annoying.)

Would you pet this cat, Yep or Nope? Rate 'em from Best in Show to Roadkill. Vote as often as you want, but we'll disallow votes that originate from the same address within a certain time period. See can you guess what it is.

Unless your name is Kurosawa, you've got no business using more than 90 minutes of our time to show us your movie. Just to show we know how limiting that can be, we'll confine our comments to One Sentence Reviews. Hey hey, everybody wins.
